This Handbook is the result of four years of collective effort by members of the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance (BICG). It unifies the knowledge and practical experience of Board members and Chairs, corporate secretaries, in-house counsel, legal advisers and other corporate governance professionals, who deal with governance questions daily, be it in private businesses, listed companies, state- and municipality-owned enterprises or company groups.
BICG is grateful to the co-authors for their commitment, professionalism and generosity with their time and knowledge. Over many working sessions, drafts and reviews, they shaped the Handbook’s structure, drafted and challenged its content, and made sure that its recommendations reflect how Boards in the Baltics can and should actually work.

Finally, special thanks go to the entire team of the BICG, whose coordination made this project possible.
